You Have More Options Than You Think
How do I know if I am pregnant?
You first most common symptom of a pregnancy is a missed period, but there are others as well. Common symptoms include fatigue, spotting, cramping, nausea, frequent urination, and tender breasts. We will provide you with a free, laboratory quality pregnancy test so you can know for sure.
How early can your tests detect pregnancy?
"Our tests are lab quality. If you test negative at your first appointment but continue to have pregnancy symptoms, we recommend you come back for a retest in 2 weeks.”
When should I get an ultrasound?
An ultrasound can help determine gestational age, placement of the fetus and confirm fetal heart beat.
Is my appointment confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us, and we will do our very best to protect that privacy. Your confidentiality is kept in every situation except those in which could jeopardize your safety.
What are my options?
It’s normal to be unsure of how you want to handle your unplanned pregnancy. At Life's Options, we can provide you with accurate and timely information regarding all of your options, including abortion, parenting and adoption, so you may make an informed decision. Our desire is to equip you so that you feel empowered and supported to choose your next step.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
Absolutely. We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel comfortable and supported. Feel free to bring a supportive friend with you if you would like. Because of the adult nature of your appointment, please consider childcare if you have young children. We completely understand if this isn't possible so please don't let that deter you from coming in for your appointment.
What will my first appointment be like?
During your first appointment, you will meet with one of our trained trained peer advocates who will ask some questions to get to know you and begin thinking about resources she may be able to provide you with. You'll then take a pregnancy test and meet again with the counselor to discuss your test result and further services which may include a free ultrasound. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member with you and he/she will be able to join you after your pregnancy test if you wish.
Do you perform abortions?
No, we do not perform or refer for abortions but we encourage you to still schedule an appointment. We can educate you on the abortion method available to you, which differs depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy, along with educating you on other options. In addition, we can schedule you for a free ultrasound to determine an estimated gestational age of your pregnancy, and the location of your pregnancy.
